JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) requested that the Covid-19 vaccination program prioritizes the elderly (elderly). This was conveyed by Jokowi when reviewing the implementation of vaccination in the Riau Islands Province.
“In all districts and cities I entrust the elderly to take precedence, the elderly take precedence. “Earlier in Batam, I saw that many vaccines were injected with the elderly,” he said, Wednesday (19/5/2021).
During his visit, Jokowi appreciated the implementation of vaccination in the Riau Islands. On this day approximately 15,000 people are vaccinated.
“We hope that as soon as possible in the Province of Riau Islands, there will be more and more vaccinated presentations. We hope that later herd immunity, communal immunity can be achieved. And we can all return to normal again, “he said.
Jokowi also asked the Minister of Health not to be late for the vaccine supply for the Riau Islands Province.

“I appreciate appreciating the speed of vaccination in the Riau Islands province. We hope there will continue to be additional vaccines from the Ministry of Health. I have already ordered the Minister of Health so that the vaccine supply for Riau Islands is not too late, “he said.
