With a stellar performance of 50 points, the young forward Jayson Tatum commanded the victory of the Boston Celtics 118-100 against the Washington Wizards this Tuesday in the ‘play in’ (repechage), with which they achieved the pass to the playoffs.
The Celtics advanced to the postseason as the seventh seed in the Eastern conference and will play the first round against the Brooklyn Nets, second.
The Wizards, meanwhile, will have a second chance to get the ticket in the last game of play in on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers in Washington.
Without his great partner Jaylen Brown, injured for the remainder of the season, Jayson Tatum put the Celtics behind them in a spectacular second half in which he scored 32 points to stop an opponent who had won 15 of their last 20 games.
The 23-year-old forward’s display neutralized Wizards stars Bradley Beal (22 points) and Russell Westbrook (20 points and 14 rebounds), who had a very unfortunate night shooting.
