She pointed out in particular that people up to the age of 27 are allowed to play in a team, be it among themselves at their own club, but not above that. “That age limit gives a strange picture on the field.” The sports world has already pointed out that, according to scientific research, outdoor sports with a view to the spread of the corona virus pose few risks.

“Now there will be more possibilities again, but players over 27 years old still have to play in groups of four with 1.5 meters away. Hopefully this strange measure will be lifted as soon as possible,” said Van Zanen. Van Zanen was pleased that there is more room for indoor athletes, albeit with many limitations. “But at last all these people can go back into the room. Various studies have shown that this is desperately needed, the negative consequences for the health of the athletes concerned are enormous. We are now carefully going in the right direction.”
