The most recent definition of International Astronomical Union (IAU), a planet must include 3 things, namely:
1. Must orbit a star (sun).
2. Must be large enough to have enough gravity to force it into a spherical shape.
3. Must be large enough so that its gravity clears other objects of similar size near their orbits around the Sun.

Meanwhile, in our solar system there are 8 types of planets, namely: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.
To distinguish them, the planets have their own characteristics.

Planet Mercury is the planet that has the closest distance to the sun, compared to other planets.
