The messaging app is reportedly testing a new setting: it would be the ability to activate the automatic message deletion mode for any new conversation.
Indeed, if you were not already aware, know that WhatsApp has several tools for the protection of privacy and confidentiality. It is true that we can tend to forget it when we see the latest setbacks of the service in terms of processing user data.
Among these tools, there is therefore the possibility of configuring a conversation with ephemeral messages. This results in a limited lifespan of the conversation history (7 days). But this is an option to go and configure manually for each exchange opened in WhatsApp.
The application is therefore currently testing with a few users the possibility of adjusting the fact that, by default, any new conversation created takes advantage of this mode with limited history in time.
