Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (05/15/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 12,849 analyzes were carried out today and 2,876 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 2,876 new cases, 1,241 are from Montevideo, 388 from Canelones, 203 from Salto, 173 from Maldonado, 138 from Colonia, 111 from Paysandú, 111 from San José, 76 from Artigas, 76 from Tacuarembó, 72 from Soriano, 48 from Rivera, 47 from Cerro Largo, 46 ​​from Florida, 34 from Lavalleja, 32 from Durazno, 28 from Treinta y Tres, 19 from Flores, 19 from Río Negro and 14 from Rocha.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,993,646 tests have been processed and 238,079 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 206,670 have already been recovered.

Today, 50 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country (table with detail is attached). So far there are 3,419 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 27,990 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 496 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 7,147 correspond to health personnel. 6,806 of them have already recovered, 322 are suffering from the disease and 19 have died.

As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 235,206. Today 2,876 new cases and a total of 238,079 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 3 cases were eliminated.
