This month, according to speculation, we may see a “silent” introduction of one product and one new service from Apple. Both novelties have one thing in common – music.
According to unofficial information Luka Mianiho On May 18, we’ll only see press releases and additions to Apple’s store, so no big presentation as with other products and services. Apple often does this with smaller innovations.
We should wait third generation AirPods wireless headphones (classic models, not Pro with ambient noise removal). They can be expected to support a new, higher-quality audio codec for audiophiles and also offer longer battery life.
At the same time, it will introduce a new service for lovers of high-quality sound recording – “Hi-Fi Apple Music”, similar to Tidal, for example, but conveniently within the Music application. Apple currently uses the AAC codec and 256kbit stream for songs. In the case of the new service, a lossless format with a high data rate can be expected, but it will probably be available only for selected music that Apple has in such quality on servers.
The question is how compatible it will be with current Apple devices that have Apple H1 chips. That is, if they will be able to upgrade with the support of the new codec.
