During the arrests in various homes, several women from Eastern Europe and South America were found last Tuesday who may be victims of these suspects. Several goods were also seized and are being further investigated. In addition to the Public Prosecution Service and several police units, the investigation into the Romanian network also involved municipalities and the tax authorities.
At the request of the Netherlands, the Romanian authorities arrested a 37-year-old Romanian suspect of human trafficking on 25 March. This suspect is still in custody, as are the two suspects who were already arrested on Tuesday, March 2. The suspects who were arrested on Tuesday have been sent away and are awaiting a summons from the public prosecutor.
