The operations center in Møre og Romsdal announced on Friday night just before 22:30 that about 300 young people had gathered in Kringtadbukta.
– It is requested that parents / guardians pick up their children, they write further.
Operations Manager Roar Fylling tells TV 2 just after 11 pm that the gathering is now estimated to be between 100 and 150 young people. The age of those who have been present is under 18 years, and some have been intoxicated.
– A number of young people have left the place, and the police have a dialogue with those who remain. They are a little difficult to get rid of, says Fylling.
Concerned about infection control
He goes on to say that there has been no report of violence or fighting, but urges parents to pick up their hopefuls.
– It is the infection control we are worried about. People must take responsibility, he says.
– Do you know if this was a planned gathering?
– We do not know about it. But we know that it is a popular gathering place among young people, says the operations manager.
– Must think about
He also talks about other local outbreaks where young people have gathered at parties, and is also clear that it can have serious consequences.
– People need to think about. It can lead to a major outbreak.
Fylling states that there are two patrols on site, and that they are there for as long as they can.
– We have been there for over an hour already, and then we have to make continuous assessments along the way of what is happening in the area. But we are there for as long as possible, he says.
