(Newcastle – Manchester City 3-4) Three goals by Ferrán Torres (21) ensured that Manchester City won the goal party. Scott Carson (35) saved penalties in the first Premier League match in ten years.

– I thought my days in the Premier League were over, but fortunately I have never given up and get the chance today. “I was surprised,” Carson told Sky Sports before the match.

City manager Pep Guardiola rested many stars after the league gold was secured earlier this week. Among other things, Carson got his first match after joining the club in 2019.

– I was a little nervous at first, but when the match started I remembered why I love football so much. This means everything to me, says Carson to Sky Sports.

Carson can take with him that he saved a penalty from Joseph Willock, but unfortunately for the veteran it helped minimally. Willock scored on the return. This was the 3-2 goal.

Newcastle took the lead through Emil Krafth, but it was not long before João Cancelo made it 1-1. Then City’s hero for the evening, Ferrán Torres, made it 2-1 with an absolutely beautiful control.

Just before the break, Joelinton equalized on a penalty for Newcastle. Willock scored 3-2, but City turned 4-3 in a few minutes after two new goals by Spanish Torres.

– Torres has delivered incredible numbers. He is so clinical, says Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager.

It was City’s 20th straight away win – 12 of them in the Premier League, which is a new record.
