KOMPAS.com – The food consumption pattern of Indonesian players is back in the spotlight. This time, coach Indonesian National team, Shin Tae-yong, commenting on the players’ food portions Indonesian National team.
Shin Tae-yong said that the food portions of the Indonesian national team players were still too small, so they had the potential to have difficulty maintaining their stamina to play for 90 minutes.
This comment was conveyed by Shin Tae-yong during the release of the Indonesian national team players to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Friday (14/5/2021).
“So to be mentally strong you need to be physically strong, to be physically strong, you have to eat a lot,” said Shin Tae-yong as quoted by BolaSport.com.
“I see you still eat a little,” continued the South Korean coach.

“By eating like this (which is a little), you will not have the stamina to play for 90 minutes,” continued the 51-year-old coach.
The diet of the national team players is one of the main concerns of Shin Tae-yong and his staff.
This can be seen when Shin defeated the U19 national team during TC in Spain and Croatia.
“The players’ diet must be maintained in order to stay fit and fit,” said physical trainer Lee Jae-hong as quoted from the official PSSI website some time ago.
“With a varied training menu, players must know what to eat under our supervision, such as carbohydrate, protein, vegetables, fruit, vitamins and others,” added Lee Jae-hong.
“We monitor the weight of our players and we also check their muscle mass, fat and others.”

He also added that the forbidden food for players is a menu that is mostly fried and spicy.
The Indonesian national team has been undergoing TC in Jakarta since early May. Garuda will play the remaining matches of the 2022 World Cup Qualification.
Prior to that, they will play test matches against Afghanistan (25 May) and Oman (29 May).
The three countries they will face in the remaining qualifying matches are Thailand (3 June), Vietnam (7 June) and the UAE (11 June).
