Work began in April to erect the new garage, which will be located at the same location, on the border between Saint-François-Xavier-de-Viger and Saint-Hubert. Its surface area will be smaller, by around 50%. A 2e phase will be possible to possibly enlarge.
The owner rolled up his sleeves, despite this hard ordeal, and decided to invest to continue the work of three generations. The company, which specializes in the recycling of auto parts, was able to continue its activities following the violent fire in December, by renting another garage.
The building should be ready by the end of June. The company will therefore soon go back from 4 to 6 employees.
Solidarity momentum
The owner, Sébastien Dubé, would like to thank all those who have provided him with support in recent months, including municipalities, suppliers and citizens. A crowdfunding campaign raised nearly $ 15,000 to help offset the losses.
Remember that the fire started on December 7, when an employee was busy with a decontamination operation to recover used oil. As a result of sparks, the flames spread inside the building.
