Coronavirus self-tests that have already been collected from pharmacies can also be used for the opening from May 19. The Chamber of Pharmacists makes this clear. In future, Salzburg residents will need a QR code for this, because the self-test only applies if the test result is registered in the Red Cross app.

From May 19, the associated free QR code stickers can be picked up in pharmacies. In May, customers will still receive five self-tests per month in pharmacies – in June everyone will then receive ten living room tests per month, always in combination with ten QR codes. These must be glued to the test kit. A self-test in your own four walls is only valid if it is also entered in the Red Cross app – then it is valid for 24 hours.
If you still have self-tests from the past few months at home, you can also use these for the opening on May 19th. For this purpose, everyone can pick up the necessary QR code stickers in the pharmacies from Wednesday, says the President of the Salzburg Chamber of Pharmacists, Kornelia Seiwald.
“Simply pick up codes in pharmacies”
“Everyone always receives ten of these codes, because they are already so perforated that ten of them will be torn off. If, for example, you have already picked up such tests in May and at home, then all you need to do is go to the pharmacy and pick up the codes there. You can simply ask for it there – quite unbureaucratically. “
From June onwards, customers will receive ten test kits and ten QR code stickers per month. People who are not tech-savvy can test themselves – without a smartphone – on the test street in the country.
Offer for tests in pharmacies continues to apply
For the time being, each of the 94 pharmacies in Salzburg will receive 60,000 QR codes – enough for 6,000 customers. The offer to be tested in pharmacies by medically trained staff continues to apply. However, you need an appointment for this.
