2 courses on the program for the next few days.
[Coup de pouce] it is the Info Tours section to support local initiatives that deserve it.
—————–
While waiting for the return of trails or races like the 10 and 20km Tours, you have to accept to go solo at this time when you enter a racing event. The harsh law of the health crisis. That said, we can motivate ourselves by telling ourselves that we are doing a good deed. This is the idea with the two events we are talking about today, designed to support the Tours University Hospital.
All in the Race:
2e edition of this event created in 2020 in full confinement. The goal: to achieve 5km in town, in your garden, in the countryside, in the gym… wherever you want. Without anyone around you, or with family and friends. As long as you respect the barrier gestures you do well as you want.
The amount of the registrations (6 €) and any donations will be fully transferred to the Tours CHRU Endowment Fund for the modernization and fitting out of the waiting room of the Tours oncology day hospital. To get involved, it happens by clicking on this link.
The event will take place on June 5 and 6.
My Hospital Challenge:
There, it is an initiative of the association Les Emplaqués, born in 2009 and which renews an event tested in 2020 (2,000 people gathered during the first edition in the fall, for the benefit of 15 hospitals throughout France). This made it possible to finance sports equipment for the pediatric oncology departments of these hospitals, as well as the collection of 600 pledges for donation of blood and platelets.
In 2021, the Mon Hôpital Challenge will take place from June 12 to 20, in parallel with World Blood Donor Day. The principle is simple: run a maximum of kilometers during the challenge period. The hospital with the most kilometers will obtain funding for its pediatric oncology service, which will be added to the funds collected individually by the participants running for this hospital. In total, 25 establishments will benefit from the system, including Tours.
Registration fee: € 10, with a t-shirt at the key. More informations on this link. 100% of the funds collected by the participants will be donated to the hospital to finance sports equipment for children with cancer (70% of the funds collected) as well as actions to raise awareness of blood and platelet donation in schools in the same city (30% of funds collected).
And of course, you have every right to try both adventures!
