Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, said that all the largest and smallest players, private, international companies that provide postal services are represented in Latvia. Latvia and the other Baltic States are in the first place in terms of the number of parcels per capita.

Vilcāns added that private home parcel machines would allow to receive and send all types of items at home without contact with the courier, as well as without going to the post office or parcel post.

“The market, the business related to receiving shipments, has significantly transformed over the last ten and ten years. First of all, new mail flows are emerging, other solutions for the delivery of these shipments compared to them, as was historically and such classically as usual. And, of course, we are simply forced, and the market dictates it, go with the times and look for new opportunities, ”said Vilcāns.
