Manchester –
Kevin De Bruyne indeed not fit until now. But a playmaker Manchester City it is sure to be ready to appear on Champions League final.
De Bruyne was last in action when City knocked out Paris Saint-Germain in last week’s Champions League semi-final second leg. After that, he only became a full backup when City were beaten by Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
De Bruyne apparently got a muscle injury during last week’s training session and his condition is not fully fit. Even this week, De Bruyne has missed a training session with the first team.
As a result, De Bruyne will not be included in the City squad which visits St James’ Park, Saturday (15/5/2021) in the morning WIB tomorrow. Manager Pep Guardiola wants De Bruyne to be fully fit when he appears in the Champions League final against Chelsea on May 29.
Because, of course, it is risky to force the Belgian midfielder to appear if he is not yet fit. There is an opportunity Kevin De Bruyne just played in the last week when City hosted Everton on May 23 as well as the Premier League championship trophy.
“He is still injured. His condition is getting better,” Guardiola was quoted as saying Manchester Evening News.
“When he is fit, he will train and the players will be 100 percent mentally and physically ready to be able to appear in the final match,” he continued.
“We still have three games left to get information about the condition of the team and the players.”
Kevin De Bruyne has been plagued by injuries this season, but has still managed to score nine goals and 17 assists in 39 matches in all competitions.
