Chinese technology manufacturer, Huami launched two newest products namely Amazfit Beep In a day Bip U Pro recently, which became the two latest editions of the Amazfit Bip U series.
CNNIndonesia.com had the opportunity to test the Amazfit Bip U Pro smartwatch, which is the highest series in the Bip Series.
Huami is a Xiaomi partner company that produces smartwatches under the Amazfit brand. But he is also working together to produce smartwatches for Xiaomi until 2023.
In terms of appearance, Huami designed this smartwatch with a box shape similar to the Apple Watch. However, according to the price tag of Rp. 899 thousand, the quality of the materials used in this smartwatch is not really that good. Especially when compared to the higher Amazfit GTS series which also has a box design.
In the GTS series, the smartwatch is wrapped in a metal body, while the Bip U Pro only uses plastic. With the difference in the price of the two smartwatches which are around Rp. 500 thousand, it greatly affects the “feel” and appearance of this smartwatch.
GTS appears with a more elegant feel because of the metal that covers the smartwatch so that the watch feels solid and sturdy. In addition, the weight of the GTS is heavier and fuller than the Bip U Pro.
When first used, the user will be asked to scan the QR code on the smartwatch to download the Zepp application.
Apart from measuring the user’s health, cellphones also have a function to forward notifications that appear on the cellphone. The smartwatch can display notifications on the screen and vibrate when there are notifications. Users can also peek at the contents of the message. This feature is effectively used when driving because you don’t have to open your cellphone to find out information.
Body and appearance
Huami designed this smartwatch quite nicely, it has a slim body wrapped in polycarbonate material with a silicone band.
However, you are advised to frequently clean the watch strap and back, because the material used often collects salt. White beads will gather on the back and band of the watch when the smartwatch is often worn to sweat.
The body material is not much different from the Amazfit GTR that I have tested. It’s just that when compared to weight, the Bip U Pro is lighter than the Amazfit GTR.
On the screen, the Amazfit Bip U Pro is box-shaped with 1.43 inches full color IPS LCD with a resolution of 320×320. This device has an overall weight of 31 grams and has one button on the side.
Bip U Pro is equipped with 5ATM water resistance certification which can be used to dive up to 50 meters.
The surface of the screen is protected with 2.5D glass and is resistant fingerprint coating. This makes the screen more scratch resistant. Amazfit offers three colors in this series, namely Black, White and Green.
On the Amazfit Bip Pro model, the device screen is quite responsive when you turn your wrist up to check the time. There is actually a screen option ‘always on‘to keep the screen on. However, with the responsiveness of the screen this feature is recommended not to be activated, in order to save device battery life.
