According to a report from L’Equipe (as captured by Get French Football News), Paris Saint-Germain is in talks with with Stade Rennais midfielder — and rumored Bayern Munich transfer target — Eduardo Camavinga:
L’Équipe report that PSG Sporting Director Leonardo used the occasion of the Ligue 1 clash with Rennes on Sunday night to speak with the opposition’s board about the possibility of signing 18-year-old French international midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer.
Under contract with SRFC until June 2022 and recently having signed up with Stellar Sports agency, Camavinga, per the media outlet, has rejected a contract extension offer and is currently of a mind to move on from the Brittany side as quickly as possible.
Rennes had set an €80m price last summer, but with just 12 months remaining on the talent’s current deal, a €30m plus bonuses fee seems more realistic, given the current tricky economic context.
In the report, Bayern Munich’s interest in Camavinga is reiterated, but the Bavarians are not willing to submit a bid above €25 million — which seems just a bit too low to get a deal done at this stage. Real Madrid is also said to be monitoring Camavinga as well.
Camavinga’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, spoke to SNTV (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) about the recent interest in his client.
“Believe me, we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones. I mean top, top clubs. We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age,” Barnett said. “Playing in a good club is nice and learning for him. It might be this year he wants to have another year. He has got to talk to his family, his father. We will all sit down and decide. We will talk to Rennes as well and decide. There is no rush for him.”
