PADANG – Three travelers from Riau who tried to enter West Sumatra reportedly drifted through the Batang Kapur river. They pass the river to avoid the blockage on the West Sumatra-Riau border. Until now, the three victims have not been found.
The head of the Fifty Cities Search and Rescue Post (SAR), Robi Saputra, in Sarilamak, Wednesday (12/5/2021) said that the information related to the existence of the three people who had been washed away came from the Kapur IX Damkar Post.
“There are four people who want to go home to West Sumatra, they rent a boat from Riau to be precise in Tanjung Village to go to West Sumatra with plans to disembark at Nagari Muaro Paiti,” he said.
He said that in the middle of the trip, to be precise, in Toluak Subanio Nagari Muaro Paiti, the boat he was traveling on with two boat owners capsized and three people were declared swept away.
“Three passengers were swept away and one person survived. The owner of the boat two survived. The survivor was the one who reported to the Damkar Command Post in Kapur IX,” he said.
He said from the information obtained by several prospective travelers, his address is Duri, whose original village is Aur Kuning, Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra. Three residents who were declared missing, namely Nofi (31), Fadli (20), and one whose identity is not yet known. The two people whose identities have been identified are their original village in Aur Kuning.
Currently, officers from the SAR Pos Limapuluh Kota are heading to Kapur IX to conduct a search by deploying 9 officers. The SAR Limapuluh Kota post carried a rubber boat and several other search equipment. “The further information will be updated later. Now the team is moving to find the missing victims,” he said. ***
