After a closed-door vote, Cheney said she would do her best to ensure that Trumps “never get even closer to the oval cabinet.”

“We must go further on the basis of truth. We cannot believe in both big lies and the constitution,” said the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who refused to agree with Trump’s claims that the Democrats won the 2020 elections through fraud.

Republicans point out that Chechnya has been removed from the group’s third most important position in the name of party unity because her attacks on Tramp only exacerbated the division among Republicans.

Meanwhile, in a statement released on Wednesday morning after the vote, Trump said that Chechnya was a “strong and terrible human being.”

He added that Cheney had done no good for politics or the state, and that she was always a member of the Democrats, whether it was on the border, on the gas pipelines, or on inflation and economic disruption.

So far, the only candidate nominated for the chairmanship of the faction is Eliza Stefanika, who has grown from a moderate Republican to a hot Trump supporter.

However, the date of the vote on the new group chairman has not been set yet, as some Republicans fear that Stefanika is not conservative enough.
