François Tatti announced it yesterday in a press release: his political formation, Democratic Corsican girl, supports Laurent Marcangeli. From a man who has always claimed to be on the left, his call to vote on the right may come as a surprise.
No wonder, however, in the entourage of Jean-Charles Orsucci : “François Tatti is in line with what he did in 2014 in Bastia, that is to say, to lose the left, we breathe. With Jean-Charles who is trying to bring together the Bastia left, we therefore regret that he is not with us and that he is going to throw himself on the right ”.
“Laurent Marcangeli as the only alternative”
Life Politics by François Tatti has never been a long quiet river. In 2014 in Bastia, after having criticized “Dynastic hegemony” Émile Zuccarelli, he heads a dissenting leftist list with, at his side, the socialist Emmanuelle de Gentili.
By allying in the second round with Gilles Simeoni, it gives the city to the nationalists and thus obtains the presidency of the community of agglomeration. Their understanding fizzled; on the evening of the 2015 departmental elections, François Tatti returned to the fold of the left.

In 2020, it is 7e on a list of left-right union led by Jean-Sébastien de Casalta, intended to prevent the re-election of the nationalists.
As such, he currently sits in the ranks of the municipal opposition, alongside Jean-Martin Mondolini, 3e on Laurent Marcangeli’s list. François Tatti, a regular at large gaps? He defends himself against it: “I did not return my jacket. I did not negotiate anything personally and none of the members of the MCD is on Laurent Marcangeli’s list. I am still a man of the left. It turns out that over the last few months we have wanted a gathering of the left. It could not be done. Especially because we especially do not want to see the outgoing majority win.
However, when we asked Jean-Charles Orsucci, who is on the autonomist left, to give his position in the second round, he did not want to engage against an alliance with the nationalists. Since it did not exclude a union with the outgoing whose results we criticize, we have therefore, in a pragmatic way, decided to ally ourselves with the centrist right. Laurent Marcangeli embodies for us the only possible alternative. His words are clear, we know that he will not come to terms with the leavers. I note moreover that he was able to convince elected officials of the left of Republican sensitivity and certain progressives. “
In the Marcangeli camp, we “Rejoices” : “Our vocation is to go beyond the usual divisions. This support illustrates our support for our approach and demonstrates our ability to bring people together in the first round. ” According to François Tatti, the MCD has around 130 members.
