Jakarta, CNN Indonesia –
Key Member Energy Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Ali Mochtar Ngabalin defend the implementation national insight test (TWK) and the process of deactivating 75 employees of the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP).
Ali Ngabalin did not agree with the assumption that TWK was held without a clear legal basis. Instead, he attacked back those who criticized the KPK TWK.
“They accused that the TWK process was fabricated because in the Act there is no reference to articles and paragraphs about TWK. These are people who are not only stupid, but they think in reverse, these breech brains are called,” said Ngabalin when contacted CNNIndonesia.com, Wednesday (12/5).
Ngabalin said that the transfer of the status of KPK employees to ASN has been regulated by Government Regulation Number 41 of 2020. According to him, TWK is also clearly regulated in this regulation.
The Golkar Party politician has denied allegations by a number of parties that President Joko Widodo intervened in the TWK process. Ngabalin called these accusations as slander against Jokowi.
“Someone gave an assessment that this was an attempt by the government and President Joko Widodo’s intervention in order to get rid of 75 KPK employees who rejected the KPK Law. This must be very cheap slander and in my opinion this is a very, very barbaric behavior,” he said.
Previously, the inactivation of 75 KPK employees was in the public spotlight. The employees of the anti-corruption institution were released after failing to pass the national insight test in the assessment of their status transfer to the State Civil Service (ASN).
The rain of criticism came from various directions. Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Busyro Muqoddas said the deactivation of 75 KPK employees was part of the weakening of the KPK in recent times.
“Since the KPK Law was revised, with Law 19/2019, it is in the hands of President Jokowi that the KPK has ended its history. So it is not weakened, its history is over,” said Busyro when contacted. CNNIndonesia.com on Wednesday (12/5).
