The capital club recently announced the contract extension with star striker Neymar. The current champions of Ligue 1 tied the striker to himself until 2025. David Ginola was pleased with the news. However, the French should rather focus their attention on players with more potential.

In an interview with the radio network France info, Ginola said: “Neymar is 29, his best years are behind him.”

But is that really true? The Brazilian star began to shine brightly in his own country at least since the 2014 World Cup. He led the Selecao to the semifinals, where they suffered a bitter 7-1 defeat against the German selection.

A year later, Neymar secured the Champions League title with FC Barcelona. In 2016 he crowned his career with the Olympic gold medal at the games in Rio de Janeiro.

In 2017, his transfer to Paris caused an outcry. The French transferred € 222 to FC Barcelona, making Neymar the most expensive player of all time. After his move, he won three league titles, among other things, but was often overshadowed by his team-mate Kylian Mbappe.

Club icon David Ginola (152 games for PSG) is therefore certain: “There’s no point in extending with Neymar if Kylian Mbappe doesn’t also sign.” Mbappe would have a lot more potential than his strike partner. PSG have been trying for months to extend with the shooting star, who still leaves his future open.
