The Commercial Observatory of the Port of Alicante will work on the “recovery and consolidation” of traffic | Radio Alicante

The Commercial Observatory of the Port of Alicante. An initiative launched by the Port Authority whose objective is to work on the “recovery and consolidation” of traffic, strengthen ties with the business logistics community and facilitate the transit of goods without forgetting your influence in the city from Alicante.

This Observatory wants to involve the entire productive sector, exporter and importer, in this work to boost container and bulk traffic (which currently account for 40% and 50% of total movements respectively) in a especially “delicate” moment such as the coronavirus pandemic. But it will also address other areas to be developed through the connection with the center and north of the peninsula through its railway terminal, for example.

These issues and others, such as search for new markets or post-Brexit customs services, will be addressed in this observatory through four committees: Merchandise, Port-City Integration, Public Domain and Paraduane Services, as explained Carlos Eleno, General Director of the Port Authority.

By the way, the Observatory will also outline the Strategic Commercial Plan approved in 2018 and with a horizon in 2022. A strategy that establishes what the Port should be for the people of Alicante and in which it stands out to generate the greatest shared value with Alicante with public-private collaboration investment such as the extension of the Sea Park and the connection with Casa Mediterréneo or the performance in the sports inner dock.
