Per a report from France Football, AS Monaco has interest in soon-to-be Bayern Munich free agent Jerome Boateng.
Boateng, of course, has some familiarity with Monaco manager Niko Kovac from their time together in Bavaria:
Monaco could achieve a big blow this summer. Eager to bring experience to his young squad, especially in defense, Niko Kovac will try to convince Jérôme Boateng to join him. At the end of his contract after ten years in Bavaria, the 32-year-old German international was recently told by the leaders that he would not be extended to make room for the Frenchman Dayot Upamecano (transferred from RB Leipzig against €42.5M).
Interestingly, the same report also stated that Monaco has interest in Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Burki. That is probably of interest to Bayern Munich as Monaco has been considered one of the potential destinations for goalkeeper Alexander Nübel.
Kovac has done wonders with AS Monaco so far and adding more experience on the back-line would help solidify things even further.
