According to Wenda, KNPB is a civil disobedience organization that is peaceful in the field. “Any West Papuan who talks about injustice – church leaders, local politicians, journalists – is now at risk of being labeled a ‘criminal’ or ‘terrorist’ and being arrested or killed,” he said.

“What was the crime of Victor Yeimo? Because against the Indonesian occupation through the peaceful mobilization of the people to defend their right to self-determination. He was accused of ‘masterminding’ the 2019 West Papua Rebellion,” added Wenda.

Indonesia has lost its political, moral and legal arguments, and nothing remains but violence and the label of stigmatization,” he said.
