The New York Police Department (NYPD) has identified a person it is looking for in connection with a shooting in Times Square, where three people were injured, including a child under 4 years old.
According to senior NYPD officials, 31-year-old Farrakhan Muhammad is wanted in reference to the incident.
Police authorities placed the subject’s photograph on a WANTED poster; The image was taken from an arrest made in March 2020, when Muhamman was indicted on assault charges.
NYPD Commissioner Dermont Shea said preliminary information indicated that the shooting started from a dispute between four people and led to the shooting.
The three victims did not know each other and were apparently only bystanders, Shea said.

For his part, NYPD spokesman sergeant Carlos Nieves confirmed that the three victims were of Latino origin: a 23-year-old girl; another 43-year-old lady; and 4-year-old Sky Martinez, who lives in Brooklyn.
According to the authorities, the minor was in Times Square because they were going to buy her toys and, after being hit in the leg, surgery is planned at Bellevue Hospital.
The second victim, aged 23, was visiting the city from Rhode Island and was also hit in the leg. The young woman was in Times Square because she had not found tickets to go to the Statue of Liberty.
The third victim was a 43-year-old woman, who came from New Jersey, and was hit in the foot by a projectile.
The NYPD commissioner indicated that no weapons had been recovered; but yes, three bullet casings of what could be a 25 caliber.
