Monaco (AP) – AS Monaco has recorded an important away win in the fight for participation in the Champions League.

The team of the former Bayern coach Niko Kovac won 1-0 (1-0) at Stade Reims. Monaco overtook Olympique Lyon again and was in third place with a one-point lead before the last two game days in Ligue 1. The Belgian Eliot Matazo (21st) scored the important goal, the former Leverkusen Kevin Volland was in the starting line-up. Lyon had presented on Saturday, won their home game 4-1 against FC Lorient.

In the evening, Paris Saint-Germain made a slip in the battle for the French football championship. Despite leading, the defending champion only scored 1-1 (1-0) at Stade Rennes.
