According to various reports, the head coach John Tortorella would have decided not to continue the adventure with Columbus Blue Jackets. The latter himself would have informed the management of the team of his intention not to renew his contract.
Tortorella had led the formation of Ohio since 2015 and was never able to get through the 2nd round of the play-offs. During his career, he experienced several communication problems with players, including Pierre-Luc Dubois traded to Winnipeg for Patrik laine.
