Opposition party leader Nika Melia has been under arrest since February 23 in connection with riots at a June 2019 rally.

Melia has been in jail since February 23 for failing to pay bail in a riot case at a June 2019 rally. His release is one of the conditions agreement signed on April 19 between the ruling party Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia and representatives of the opposition.
