Back this week at Chelsea, the Real Madrid captain has relapsed. He now suffers from a muscle injury to his left leg.
Sergio Ramos is one of the pillars of Real Madrid and enjoys the maximum confidence of Zidane. While whether or not to extend with the club is being decided, the player is doing his best to be at his best and help his team, but, for the moment, his year 2021 is marked by absences due to problems. from the knee first, then to another in the calf.
After recovering from knee surgery, Ramos made his comeback against Elche. Then he was preserved against Celta before joining the Spanish national team and there he injured his left leg calf, which made him miss the Clasico, the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Liverpool and the first leg against Chelsea in the semi-finals.
After making their comeback against Chelsea in the semi-final second leg on Wednesday, the official medical report says: “Following the tests carried out on our player Sergio Ramos by the medical services of Real Madrid, he was diagnosed with tendinosis of the semi-membranous muscle of the left leg. In addition to the injuries, he tested positive for Covid-19, which required him to be isolated. The new injury report speaks of tendinosis of the semi-membranous muscle in the left leg and while it doesn’t specify the recovery time, it could say goodbye at the end of the season.
Previously, the central had undergone an operation to treat the meniscus of his left knee. He suffered from discomfort in the previous weeks which he felt during the warm-up before the Supercopa against Athletic. He ended up playing that semi-final, but he did it while being undercover and it wasn’t the best effect.
The pains worsened and he was dropped from the cup roster against Alcoyano, where Madrid crashed, and Zizou left him out against Alavés, Levante and Huesca. Now, after the procedure, the treatment is expected to lead to the disappearance of his problems.
But he may not be able to play by the end of La Liga, he who is at the end of his contract with Real Madrid, and whose future is more uncertain than ever. In the meantime, the Merenques will have to do without him Sunday against Sevilla, a match that promises to be decisive in a particularly tight title race.
