KARAWANG, KOMPAS.com – Chief of Police Karawang AKBP Rama Samtama Putra confirmed that the video of hundreds of motorbike travelers breaking through an isolation post took place in Karawang.

Precisely at the Kepuh Roundabout Post, Karawang Outer Ring Road, on Saturday (8/5/2021) in the morning.

“Yes (it really happened in Karawang),” said Rama via text message, Saturday (8/5/2021).

Rama revealed that the incident of hundreds of two-wheeled travelers breaking into officers occurred at the Kepuh Roundabout Blockage Post, Karawang Outer Ring Road.

Rama said, Friday (7/5/2021) night to Saturday morning was the peak of the homecoming flow from the direction of Jakarta.

“Last night, it could be said that the peak flow of homecoming people from Jakarta passed through one of the Kepuh Karawang blocking posts trying to break through,” he said.

Even so, Rama made sure that the incident did not last long.

This is because the officers managed to dispel the travelers. They were then asked to turn back.

“However, it did not last long, we immediately thickened the personnel so that the travelers could be driven back around,” he said.

It is known, in Karawang there are 15 blocking posts to eliminate going home.

Two of them, namely the Kilometer 46 Toll Jakarta-Cikampek and Tanjungpura posts, are crucial points. This is because both are the border between Karawang and Bekasi.

Judging from the upload of the Facebook group Info Loker Cikarang, Saturday (8/5/2021) in the early morning, there were swarms of motorbikes and cars that were suspected of going home.

The 21-second video allegedly took place in Karawang, West Java. In the video, officers can see trying to drive away a number of travelers on motorbikes.

The officer kept trying to lift barrier from various directions to cover the travelers who keep trying to push their way.
