On May 6, Duchess Meghan (39) and Prince Harry (36) celebrated their son Archie’s two years, and on that occasion, lots of congratulations poured in for the 2-year-old.
This also included the rest of the British royal family, who, however, received criticism for the way they chose to congratulate Archie on.
Pictures of Archie are a rare event, but the duke couple could still delight the royal followers with a picture of their son. On the duke couple’s charity website, Archewell, you get to see the picture of Archie with a desire for donations to covid-19 vaccines.
This year’s birthday wish is about raising money for vaccines for countries in need, and the couple therefore encourages their followers to donate.
The picture on the website has a faded, brown hue and shows Archie with a bouquet of balloons in his hand. The birthday child stands with his back to the camera, and looks up into the air at the big balloons.
Below the picture, the duke couple have also written an open letter in connection with the birthday collection.
“For the past two years, we have been deeply touched by the warmth and support shown to our family on the occasion of Archie’s birthday,” the couple begins, adding: “Several of you have donated to charity on his behalf, marking the event give back or perform services – all because of their good hearts ».

This year’s fundraiser has, as previously mentioned, a focus on helping underprivileged countries with vaccine doses, which the couple thinks was the best way to celebrate the day.

“We could not think of a better way to honor our son’s birthday. If we all perform with pity for those we know and do not know, we can have an influence “, it says in the letter, which ends with:
“Even a small contribution can have ripple effects. Together we can lift, protect and take care of each other »
As mentioned, not everyone was equally pleased with the way the British royal family congratulated Archie.
Several of the members of the royal family shared photos of the 2-year-old with his mother and father, and congratulated him on the big day.
Duchess Kate (39) and Prince William (38) shared a photo from Archie’s baptism with the whole family together, and on Queen Elizabeth’s (95) official Instagram account, The Royal Family, you could see a photo from when the public saw Archie for the first time.

However, it is Prince Charles (72) and Duchess Camilla’s (73) congratulations that several responded to. They chose to cut Meghan out of the picture, and instead shared one of Prince Charles, Harry and newborn Archie.
“How sad it is not that these are the only pictures that the royal family can share”, was among the reactions.
Meghan is currently pregnant with her second child, and the little girl is expected to be born this summer.
