Gives up
After more than twelve years as Dr. Jackson Avery, actress Jesse Williams (39) chooses to thank herself. His latest episode has been named “Tradition”, and will be broadcast on May 20.
– I will forever be grateful for the unlimited opportunities Shonda, the network, the studio, the staff, our incredible crew, Krista, Ellen and Debbie gave me, he says in a press release Thursday night American time, writes People.
He refers to the mastermind behind the series, Shonda Rhimes, as well as creator Krista Vernoff and co-stars Ellen Pompeo and Debbie Allen.
– As an actor, director and person, I have been obscenely lucky to learn so much from so many, and I thank our beautiful fans who breathe so much energy and gratitude into our shared worlds, he continues.
He also says that almost 300 hours of leading global TV success is a gift he will always bring with him in life.
This week, Jackson Avery visits his estranged wife, April Kepner, and daughter Harriet, and reveals to her that he no longer wants to work for Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital. He would rather work for the family’s Catherine Fox Foundation, which means that the fictional character moves to Boston.

This season, the doctors at the popular hospital are considering what it is like to work in the health care system in the ongoing corona pandemic.
Meredith Gray, played by Ellen Pompeo (51), tested positive for covid-19, and throughout the season you get to follow her through the course of the disease.
Among other things, this has meant that both Patrick Dempsey (55) and T. R Knight (48), who played two of the series’ real favorites, respectively Dr. Derek Shepherd and George O’Malley, have returned for small reunions.
Eager fans have also had a happy reunion with Lexie Gray, played by Chyler Leigh (38), and Mark Sloan, played by Eric Dane (48).
All four of the above characters, except Kepner, are dead, and have therefore only been visible to Meredith Gray.

May be nearing the end
“Grey’s Anatomy” premiered in the United States in 2005, and quickly became a huge success. The following year it came to Norway, and has since been hugely popular. That the hospital series is possibly nearing the end, however, is not entirely unthinkable – despite the success.
Last autumn, Pompeo stated Variety that it is in fact a potential opportunity.
