Mikel Arteta “has no chance” to keep his post at Arsenal after the club’s departure from the Europa League to Villarreal.
That’s the opinion of Gunners fan John, who saw his team play a goalless draw after failing to come back from 2-1 in the first leg in Thursday’s semifinal tie.
.
Arteta’s time at Arsenal could increase
Arsenal will play the 2021/22 season without European football for the first time in 25 years, unless they fill a seven-point gap with sixth-ranked Tottenham in their last four Premier League games this month.
It’s a big question with the Gunners languishing in ninth place and John insists that Arteta should be fired.
He told the Sports Bar on talkSPORT: “I have never, never been so bored of watching a semi-final in my life.
“It was like watching a game at the end of the season with nothing at stake. It was horrible. It was so flat. It was ridiculous.
.
Villarreal has endangered the future of Arsenal de Arteta
“The team reflects the personality of the coach. He was a boring footballer. Go back to Brick Lane because you are not ready to be an architect, that’s for sure.
“There is no possibility of him staying. As bad as he is, behind the scenes he’s rotten to the core.
“Recruitment in recent years has been a disgrace. So it’s a rotten club. The owners don’t care.
John is convinced that Arteta has done a worse job than Frank Lampard, who was fired after an 18-month stint at Chelsea in January.

“Lampard did better than him and got fired! This guy has failed miserably. There is no way he can stay.
One positive aspect for Arsenal has been the appearance of youngsters Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe in the last two seasons.
However, John believes young players have been let down by high-level professionals, including Willian, who has yet to score in 36 appearances since joining a free transfer from Chelsea last summer.
.
Saka, 19, has been a bright light in Arsenal’s poor season
John added: “With Manchester City and Chelsea emerging, Arsenal really couldn’t compete with them in terms of level.
“Our owners should have accepted our place at the table and they should have adapted to doing business in a similar way to Dortmund.
“There are a lot of young talents that have been acquired by clubs like Dortmund. Maybe we should have done that and played with the young talent.
“It would have been more exciting for the fans to pay [Mesut] Ozil £ 350,000 a week, paying this £ 250,000 a week. We should have gotten rid of them and played with the young players.
“We have used that talent [this season], but sadly the older players have let us down a lot.
“Recruiting with players like Willian is just a waste of time and money.”
