Used the same syringe on two people when they put coronary vaccine in Fauske in Nordland – NRK

This article is over a month old and may contain outdated advice from the authorities regarding coronary heart disease.

Stay up to date in NRK’s overview, or through FHIs nettsider.

It is Avisa Nordland who revealed the discrepancy first.

On March 2 this year, an employee in Fauske municipality used the same syringe when he injected coronary vaccine on two of his colleagues.

– It’s about a routine failure. It was the vaccinator who himself reported it to the deviation system, says municipal manager for health and care in Fauske Torill Mørkhagen.

Avisa Nordland has been given access to the deviation report. The deviation is categorized as a serious failure of routine.

Mørkhagen says that the situation was followed up in line with the routines.

– The vaccinated and the vaccinator have been followed up, by both the manager and the GP. We have not revealed that it has had any health consequences for the vaccinated, she says.

Fauske municipality has had a total of 69 cases of infection since the pandemic broke out. Following the incident in March, the municipality has reviewed its routines for vaccination.

– This applies to both those involved and on a general basis, says Torill Mørkhagen.

So you feel confident in the vaccination routines in the municipalities?

– This is the only deviation we have had in connection with the vaccination. It is unfortunate that something like this happens, but once it has happened, there is reason to praise those involved who have followed current routines.
