The summer season is about to fail, the industry wants children without PCR to enter Bulgaria

In the absence of agreements with foreign markets and foreign tourists, the summer season is doomed. This was stated by the President of the Union of Hotel Owners in Sunny Beach Elena Ivanova to the Bulgarian National Radio in connection with Russia’s decision to suspend its charter flights to Bulgaria.

According to her, the missing Russian tourists cannot be easily compensated with visitors from other countries, which is why the decision to terminate the charter programs by the end of May was met with concern by the tourism industry in our country.

“At this stage, Romanian tourists are not very active for travel in Bulgaria, as the quarantine on return to Romania has not yet been lifted,” she said, adding that this is the reason why many hotels in our country do not open. along the May holidays.

For another year, the tourism sector in our country will rely on Bulgarian tourists, but the industry fears that after the opening of Greece on May 15, most of our people will head to our southern neighbor.

That is why the industry insists in an open letter to the resigned Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and President Rumen Radev that children and young people under 18 enter the country without PCR and antigen tests. w. A similar measure was promised at a meeting with businesses on the eve of the summer season.

Travel agencies are demanding a relaxed entry regime at least until the end of October, as well as clearly defined rules for the operation of hotels and organized transport. According to the companies that deal mainly with inbound tourism and operate on the Russian market, if our country is not urgently advertised abroad as a safe and secure destination, “the few remaining charter programs to Bulgaria will be canceled.”

Businesses are also demanding urgent measures by all authorities to improve political relations with Russia and avoid the risk of our country being declared an enemy state in a decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which is expected in a few days. If this happens, we cannot expect Russian tourists in the next at least 5 years, travel agents worry.
