Indian variant of the coronavirus detected in family in Ås

Ås Avis wrote on April 29 that a person tested positive for corona at Gardermoen after returning from a trip to India.

Municipal chief physician Sidsel Storhaug now confirms to notice a that several people in the same family have tested positive.

The samples were sent to Ahus last week for sequencing for the Indian variant of the coronavirus.

– It is now clear that the people who have tested positive in connection with the trip to India, are infected with the Indian, mutated variant of the coronavirus. We have control of the situation, Storhaug states.
