Members of the royal family sent congratulations on the occasion of the second birthday of Archie, son of Prince Harry and his wife Megan, Reuters reported.
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor is the seventh in line to inherit the British throne. He was born on May 6, 2019 at Portland Hospital in London and now lives with his parents in Los Angeles. The Dukes of Sussex left Britain and relinquished their royal duties last year.
“I wish Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy second birthday today,” said a post posted on Queen Elizabeth II’s Twitter page.
Similar wishes were sent by Archie’s grandfather, Prince Charles, and by his uncles and aunts, Prince William and Catherine.
The photo of William and Catherine’s post is from Archie’s baptism in 2019, when he was 2 months old. It was attended by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, as well as Megan Markle’s mother – Doria.
Archie was at the center of a deteriorating relationship between Harry, the grandson of 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth II, and the rest of the royal family after he and his wife relinquished their royal duties. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, 39-year-old Megan, whose mother is black, confided that an unnamed royal asked what Archie’s skin color would be before he was born.
Megan Markle is pregnant and Archie is expected to have a sister in the summer.
