The number of corona patients on the nursing wards rose to 1744. That is an increase of 29 compared to Wednesday, but a significant decrease compared to last week. Intensive care now treat 807 people because of the consequences of a corona infection, 23 fewer than on Wednesday. That number has fluctuated between 800 and 850 for about three weeks.
The hospitals recently admitted 259 patients to intensive care units and nursing wards. For a Thursday, this is the lowest number since mid-March. According to figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS), new patients were admitted in the past week of 2019, on average 288.4 per day, which is the lowest level in about three weeks.
The Outbreak Management Team, which advises the cabinet on corona policy, believes that the existing corona measures should only be relaxed if the number of hospital and IC admissions falls by 20 percent compared to the situation last week. For that, the numbers would have to be reduced significantly further.
