In the playoffs of the second ice hockey league, the EHC Freiburg is fighting against the impending end. The Wolves also lost the second semi-final game against the Bietigheim Steelers on Wednesday evening (May 6th, 2021) – this time away with 2: 3 after extra time.
Goalkeeper Ben Meisner had announced the end of his career before the game. The 30-year-old is no longer available to the EHC with immediate effect.
In addition, the wolves have announced a new addition for the coming season. The 20-year-old striker Lennart Otten comes from Düsseldorf. In the U20 team, the left shooter was able to write a strong 18 points scorer in the last ten games.
In Breisgau, Otten has now received a funding contract. After the contract extensions of the well-known top performers Christian Billich, Nick Pagaeu, Christoph Kiefersauer and Alexander Brückmann, Otten is the first new addition for the upcoming DEL2 season 2021/22.
In the current playoff phase, EHC Freiburg will now be all or nothing on Friday evening (May 7th, 2021) at 7:30 p.m. With a win in the local Echte-Helden-Arena, the wolves would be in the best-of-five series, Bietigheim wins and the Freiburg team are eliminated in the semifinals.
