With intensive prevention sessions, free tests and orientation among Tamaulipas, the government of Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca continues the activities of the month of awareness on breast cancer, which is commemorated worldwide throughout the year. Fortino Ramírez González, Deputy Director of the Valle Hermoso General Hospital pointed out that breast cancer (BED) is the most frequent among women and occupies the first places of mortality due to cancer, however, it can be curable if it is detected in early stages .

Likewise, Ramírez González stressed that throughout the year, the units of the state health system will strengthen prevention measures, dissemination of initial signs and symptoms, mammograms and demonstrations of how to perform the breast examination correctly. He recommended self-exploration once a month; request an annual clinical examination after age 25; have a mammogram if they are between 40 and 69 years old; exercise and maintain your ideal weight; avoid the consumption of tobacco and alcohol; use menopausal hormone therapy for less than five years; use oral contraceptives for less than 10 years and practice breastfeeding. The most important steps that can be taken to prevent deaths from breast cancer are to find it early and receive the most advanced treatment to fight the disease. Finally, Ramírez González explained that Tamaulipas has facilities, specialists and mammography equipment distributed in all areas of our state, including 5 mobile units, which go to the most remote regions of the state to carry out the study to all our women for free .
