Head of South Jakarta Traffic Unit, Commissioner Sri Widodo, said at the point check point, the officer did not make a U-turn of the vehicle. The reason is, check point still in the agglomeration area.
“Because this is an agglomeration area, both are inside. So it is only disciplining health protocols,” said Widodo when met at the location, Thursday (6/5).
Agglomeration itself is an extended city or district, consisting of dense urban centers (generally municipalities) and districts connected by sustainable urban areas.
Geographically, the agglomerations are connected in one growth area. Examples are Jabodetabek or Bandung Raya which includes the City and Regency of Bandung and the City of Cimahi.
As for the South Jakarta Traffic Center, Commissioner Sri Widodo also explained that the officers were guarding the post check point limited to enforcing Covid-19 prevention health protocols and monitoring pathways.
“Our task here is more to discipline health protocols. Then we monitor pathways or areas around us where there is density, community activities in groups,” he added.
Head of Satpol PP of Pesanggrahan Subdistrict, Pelita added that currently his personnel are still monitoring the implementation of health protocol discipline and have not turned the vehicle from Tangerang or vice versa.
“This supervision is still just an isolation for homecoming flows, but because this is indeed the border between Tangerang and South Jakarta, there is still a flow of people working,” said Pelita.
Pelita said the post would be on standby for 24 hours with four shifts.
As is known, the police built 31 monitoring points during the period of the homecoming ban, May 6 to 17. The 31 points consist of 17 check point and 14 isolation points. The government is known to have adopted the Eid homecoming prohibition policy this year as an effort to reduce the spread of the corona virus (SARS-CoV-2).
