In a lengthy post yesterday, he revealed that he was worried before telling his story. What changed his feelings, however, was the scandal with his video for the song contest, because of which many of his compatriots signed a petition against him. And Garvanliev revealed that he also received threats.

“I am a human being with a heart … race, color, orientation … It doesn’t matter for the music … especially in music we are connected in one beating heart,” wrote Vasil, who was attacked for his Bulgarian roots and passport. .

Will Stroud from Attitude magazine points out at the beginning of the text that the singer’s sexual orientation is actually the most uninteresting detail of him. The news does not come as a surprise for Garvanliev’s family and relatives, who, according to him, have known for 2 decades. However, he is the first person with a higher status in northern Macedonia to recognize homosexual orientation, Attitude writes.

“My sixth feeling is that this is the right time to share everything about myself – to literally break down all the walls and present myself as I am,” said the singer, who will perform the song Here I Stand at the end of the month in Rotterdam.
