2021 UEFA Women’s Champions League final, Hussein on whistle | UEFA Women’s Champions League

The UEFA Referees Committee has announced that Riem Hussein will be the referee for the 2021 UEFA Women’s Champions League final between Chelsea FC and FC Barcelona. The match will be played on Sunday May 16 at 9:00 p.m. CET at the Gamla Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg.

The 40-year-old German has been an international referee since 2009. She will lead her first UEFA Women’s Champions League final after being named fourth official for the 2017 final between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain, in Cardiff, Wales.

In the final in Gothenburg, Riem Hussein will be assisted by the German Katrin Rafalski and the Austrian Sara Telek. The fourth official, Katalin Kulcsár, is Hungarian. German Bastian Dankert will take on the role of Video Assistant Referee (VAR). He will be assisted by a compatriot, Christian Dingert. The reserve assistant referee will be the Swede Julia Magnusson.
