REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG – Covid 19 vaccination in West Java, is still colored by Post-Immunization Follow-Up Incidents (KIPI). According to the Head of the West Java (Jabar) Covid-19 Handling Task Force Health Division Marion Siagian, since vaccination was held, there were 107 KIPI mild and serious 36. Mild AEFIs are mostly sleepy, red at the injection site and also hungry.
“The 36 serious AEFIs have been audited and there is no direct relationship due to the Covid-19 vaccine,” said Marion, Monday (3/5).
Marion hopes that the SA case is the last case in KIPI in West Java. There are no more cases of mild or severe AEFI.
Meanwhile, a member of the West Java KIPI Komda Dr. Rodman Tarigan said, for serious AEFIs, most patients were unconscious or fainted after receiving the vaccine. This is due to anxiety, plus seeing the syringe.
“There was fear, causing symptoms of pain until fainting. AEFI is serious until it is treated and it turns out that it has nothing to do with vaccination, “he said.
According to the Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Unpad, who is also the Head of the Covid-19 Vaccine Research Team, Prof. Dr. Kusnandi Rusmil, dr., Sp.A (K), MM, the ratio of KIPI cases weighs 1 million to one person. As for severe and mild allergic reactions, the figure ranges from 2.5 to 5 percent.
“The side effects that occur are very few. Some are itchy, the redness at the injection site is less than 2.5 percent,” said Kusnandi.
According to him, AEFI can be linked to vaccines and also cannot be linked to vaccines. An example of a vaccine reaction creates body heat, swelling at the injection site.
“There are also those that are not vaccine reactions, such as the wrong injection, which must be prevented and we have never met AEFI like that, mostly individual reactions that occur,” he said.
Usually, he said, 2.5-5 percent of the total population were mild AEFIs. “The weight is very rare from a million is one. For the benefit of vaccination is much greater than that reaction, so do not be afraid to be vaccinated because it prevents disease,” he explained.
Meanwhile, according to Plt Kadinkes Jabar Dewi Sartika, for vaccination in West Java which was held in West Java from January 14 to May 2, the first dose of health workers had reached 100 percent, while the second dose only reached 92 percent of 180,000 health workers.
The second stage, targeting 4.4 million elderly and 2.195 million public services, of the elderly target is still low. Only 7.54 percent of the elderly have received the first dose and 4 percent have received the second dose. Finally, the target for public service has reached 58.2 percent for the first dose and 36.05 percent for the second dose.
