Offshoot plays in Hawaii: Vanessa Lachey stars in the new Navy CIS spin-off – Entertainment

The “Navy CIS” series has a new offshoot set in Hawaii. Vanessa Lachey will be in front of the camera as the leading actress.

The newest spin-off in the “Navy CIS” franchise of the US broadcaster CBS has found its leading lady. Vanessa Lachey (40, “BH90210”) will star in “NCIS: Hawai’i”. Yasmine Al-Bustami and Jason Antoon will also be on the series, according to “The Hollywood Reporter”.

Work on the spin-off is said to have been going on for several months. Chris Silber, showrunner of “Navy CIS: New Orleans”, will switch to the new branch, according to the report. In it, Lachey plays the role of Jane Tennant, the first woman to head the “NCIS” office in Hawaii as a special agent. In addition to her job, she also raises her children mostly on her own, the figure goes on to say. Commenting on the series on Instagram, Lachey wrote, “To be honored is an understatement! To be the first female lead to join the NCIS franchise and do so in the beautiful islands of Hawaii … I still can not to believe!”

“Navy CIS” has been running since 2003 and was originally a spin-off from “JAG – On behalf of the honor”. Later, the two offshoots “Navy CIS: LA” – the series started in 2009 – and “Navy CIS: New Orleans”, the TV show ends after the current seventh season.
