Some good news has nonetheless brightened up the lives of the members and management of the Curling Club in recent months, according to President Suzanne Cournoyer.

The Club was nominated by the Regional Association of Curling Clubs in Estrie in the “Sports Organization of the Year” category at the Mérite sportif de l’Estrie gala.

In addition, Curling Quebec rewarded the local organization by awarding it the title of “Club of the year 2019-2020”. This merit can be explained by the dynamism of the members, the originality of the club and its performance in terms of event action and recruitment.

The club’s finances remain healthy despite major renovations. The new refrigeration system has been installed to meet the new standards. This $ 350,000 bill was paid for through accumulated membership dues, institutional borrowing, player loans and generous grants.

This financial assistance comes from Quebec, Ottawa, the Caisse Desjardins du Lac-Desjardins and the MRC de Memphrémagog.
