PIT-CNT calls for the donation of food for the pots and seeks to “surprise” by collecting signatures against the LUC

Under the slogan “life first, work first”, the union central calls on workers to donate food for popular pots and collect signatures to repeal 135 articles of the Law of Urgent Consideration (LUC).

For the second year in a row, the pandemic will avoid the traditional act in Chicago’s Martyrs Square on May 1 for Workers’ Day.

The general secretary of the Pit Cnt, Marcelo Abdala, told Better Talk about M24 that May 1 is marked by an exponential growth in the level of infections, by saturation levels of the health system and by high stress on workers Of the health.

Today will be a day of mobilization in the neighborhoods between 10 am and 2 pm, food will be collected for the popular pots and signatures to bring the 135 articles of the LUC to a referendum. At around 3 pm they will set up specific places for collection and at 6:30 pm the press conference will be held, which will be broadcast by M24.

Fernando Pereira, president of the central, told INFO 24 that the content of the 135 articles of the LUC “is highly negative”, and “deteriorates many rights, creates negative conditions for workers and for our main public companies.” According to Abdala, the central “is going to surprise in the matter of collecting signatures against the LUC.”

Faced with the phenomenon of the popular pots, Pereira highlighted the effort and collective solidarity, and assured that “the government should already have made substantive decisions” such as “the basic emergency salary, monetary transfers more important than those it is giving, so that each family could eat in their place, in their place, at home ”.

“When the tide lets us see behind the fog, we are going to see images that have not been seen for a long time (…) we are going to see an extremely harsh circumstance from which we hopefully get out quickly but which is going to cause us very hard social damage”.
