Spectacular photo of New York | THE IMPARTIAL

EarthCam recently introduced its GigapixelCam X80, a robotic camera capable of producing panoramic photos of more than 80 thousand megapixels.

In order to test the potential of the camera, the company used the X80 to take the highest resolution photograph ever captured of New York. The result was a 120 gigapixel (120 billion pixel) photo taken from the Empire State Building, EarthCam CEO Brian Cury said in an interview with Petapixel.

The snapshot can be accessed on that company’s page. The available navigation tool allows visitors to move freely in the image and explore multiple points of interest in the city, such as the World Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty or Madison Square Park, among others, publishes RT.
